Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (USA)

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) is a federal agency within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, established in 2018 to serve as the nation’s primary authority on cybersecurity and infrastructure protection. CISA leads efforts to defend critical infrastructure from both cyber and physical threats by collaborating with federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial governments, as well as private sector partners. Its core responsibilities include providing 24/7 cyber situational awareness, incident response, risk assessment, and information sharing services to help organizations manage and reduce risks to essential systems and assets. CISA also develops cybersecurity tools, training, and best practices, coordinates emergency communications, and issues regular threat alerts to keep stakeholders informed about emerging vulnerabilities and attacks. Through these activities, CISA aims to strengthen the security and resilience of the nation’s infrastructure against evolving threats.
